Jessie Green- Art Gallery critique
I chose to critique this image because of the fact that it is both simple and complex and overall a beautiful piece. The curves of the wine glass are sharp with a blurred background which keeps the focus on the glass. It was very creative of the photographer to show a reflection of the sky and landscape inside of the glass. The fact that the image inside of the glass is upside down just adds to the overall feel of the piece. The glass is not in the center of the photo but rather to the side which makes it more pleasing to look at, and the sharpness of the image is very pleasing as well. One thing that was lacking from this picture is a contrast of colors. Perhaps the photographer envisioned their portrait looking this way, but a pop of color would have been nice. Overall I rate this image as excellent. It was executed in a professional way and was enjoyable to view.
