Assignment 1: Sam Carstens

Tim Hetherington was a bold and courageous man. Tim was a war photographer, and sadly died in 2011 while documenting the war in Libya. He showed immense passion for his work, continuously striving towards his goal. I love his photos because they are so unique. War is the hardest thing to capture on camera because you are risking your own life for your passion. Also, Tim uses his photos to show the war we do not see. He brings to light the people fighting for their freedom, for their country, and for their family. Furthermore, showing the emotional toll that it takes on the individuals and on the landscape. We never get to see any of that on the 30 second segment broadcasted on the news, but I could trust Tim to show me.
