Photos of a Song, Julia Stevens

Paradise, Coldplay
When she was just a girl (the shadow of the girl in the tree represents the carefree innocence to all that is wrong with the world, though the photo was taken from the perspective of someone who sees the darkness, while the child is in the light)
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach (the feather represents flight and is placed just outside of a cage, showing that the bird has gone and all that is left is a feather. The rocks contrast the softness of the feather, showing that the bird was escaping a harder existence)
So she ran away in her sleep
And dreamed of
Para-para-paradise,
Para-para-paradise
Para-para-paradise
Every time she closed her eyes (the last image is of a girl with her eyes closed. The focus is on her meditative expression, as though she is dreaming. To me this song is a statement about how we can hope for better circumstances, no matter what the realities of our lives are)
